Operating model
Teams-first means different things in these products
WebChat describes operational chat as a post and thread in the mapped Teams channel. CoreInteract is marketed as a customer engagement suite for Teams with telephony, digital channels, routing, analytics and business data.
A team replacing only the discontinued widget should not buy suite complexity automatically. An operation needing governed queues and cross-channel control should not stretch a focused chat service beyond evidence.
Scope matrix

Target fit
When the suite may justify its broader operation
- Test CoreInteract when voice and digital contacts need shared queues and supervision.
- Test CoreInteract when Dynamics 365, historical reports and a workflow builder are mandatory.
- Test WebChat when departments already work in Teams channels and primarily need chat routing.
- Test WebChat when agent count should not be the main licence driver and a few channels serve many colleagues.
